Submission guidelines

What we list

Software made by a company registered in the EU, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland or the UK. SaaS, desktop applications, mobile apps, browser extensions, developer tools, APIs, command-line tools and plugins.

Any price, including free and open source — as long as a registered company owns or operates it.

Sole traders can be listed if they are registered in their country's official business register. Their registered name and number are shown like any company's.

Someone outside your company has to be able to use it. A sign-up, a download, a trial or documented access. A waiting list is not enough.

What we do not list

  • anything that is not software: agencies, consultancies, services delivered by people, courses, hardware
  • games
  • marketplaces and directories
  • products with no registered company behind them, including personal side projects
  • the categories listed under Prohibited below

How to submit

  1. Verify you control the product's domain — either an email address on that domain, or a DNS record.
  2. Give your company details — legal name, registration identifier, country. Exactly as your national register has them.
  3. Write the listing — what it does, who for, up to four screenshots and a logo.
  4. Wait. A person reviews it. We email you either way.

You may have three open submissions per domain at a time.

Images

  • Logo: square, PNG, JPEG or WebP, 256 to 2048 pixels, up to 500 KB.
  • Screenshots: PNG, JPEG or WebP, 1280 to 2560 pixels wide and at most 1600 pixels high, up to 2 MB each. One to four screenshots, or up to eight with Enhanced Profile.
  • No animated images.
  • We remove hidden data, such as location and camera details, from every image before we store it.

Writing a listing that gets approved

  • Say what the software does in the first sentence. Not what your company believes.
  • Use the words your customers use. "Platform", "solution" and "ecosystem" tell a reader nothing.
  • Make it match your website. If they disagree, we go with the website.
  • No URLs in the description.
  • Screenshots of the actual product. No mockups, no marketing graphics, no stock photography.

The company register check

This is the part most people are not expecting. We look your company up in its national register — the official state one, not a business directory. We need to see the legal name and the registration identifier, and they have to match what you gave us.

If we cannot find it, we email you and ask for a link to, or a copy of, your entry in the official register. You have 14 days. Without it, the listing is rejected.

The single thing that makes this go smoothly: give the registration identifier exactly as your register writes it. Some countries need more than a number — Germany's commercial register, for example, identifies companies by number and registering court.

Prohibited categories

We do not list software whose main purpose falls in one of these categories, however it is presented. A submission in one of them is rejected with reason 5 and cannot be submitted again.

  1. Gambling, betting, casino, lottery and sweepstakes
  2. Adult or sexual content and services
  3. Crypto investment, trading signals, token sales and NFT schemes
  4. MLM, pyramid, get-rich-quick and "make money online" schemes
  5. Weapons, explosives and weapon parts
  6. Illegal drugs, CBD and cannabis, and unregulated supplements
  7. Spyware, stalkerware and covert tracking of people
  8. Hacking and cracking tools, DDoS-for-hire, credential stuffing and account takeover
  9. Spam and bulk unsolicited messaging, fake reviews, and buying followers or engagement
  10. People-search, and scraping or brokering personal data
  11. Deepfake and non-consensual imagery tools
  12. Essay mills, academic cheating and exam proxies
  13. Piracy, DRM circumvention and counterfeit goods
  14. Hate, extremism and harassment tools
  15. Deceptive products: false claims, impersonation and hidden subscription traps

Software that protects against these is welcome — security, fraud prevention, age verification, content moderation and compliance tools are judged on what they do, not on the words their subject needs.

After you are published

  • Edit any time at Manage listing. Anything visitors can see is reviewed again before it appears. One edit submission per listing per week.
  • We check that your site still works, weekly. If it stops responding for three weeks, or starts showing a parked or for-sale page, the listing is hidden and we email you. Hidden is not deleted — it comes back when the site does.
  • Moved domain? Change it on your listing. It is reviewed and re-verified, and then the listing continues.
  • Want it gone? Ask, and we remove it.
